Subject: [TCG] TCG meeting at Dickson

A TCG meeting was held at the Renaissance Center on Hwy 46 S in Dickson on 8
September, 2003. The following was on hand and accounted for:

W4MGY            Steve

   The upcoming Tennessee QSO Party was discussed in great length, and the
fact that the local Dickson Club has the honor of operation K4TCG this year.
Several stations were assigned bands on SSB, and one station to handle the
CW. We hope to have a SSB station on each band at all times.

   There was also an emphasis place on making more contacts on VHF and UHF.
There should be a station dedicated to 6 and 2 meter ssb/cw and one on 2
meter and 440 FM, with a possibility of 220 from a mobile.

   The California QSO Party was also discussed, trying to keep the
Out-of-state Club trophy here in Tennessee. Concerns were cast on the
declining sunspot cycle and the efffect it has on 10 and 15 meters, 
but hopefully there will be enough openings for a good effort from 
Tennessee. 

  The Sweepstakes were also mentioned briefly.

   Those in attendance talked about hosting a TCG monthly meeting here in 
the county. We are working on getting permission to do so in the near 
future. The welcome mat was unveiled for the newest members of the TCG, 
Steve and Tom.

   The meeting ended at 9:00 PM.
