TCG @ MEMPHIS "DIXIEFEST" MEETING MINUTES 2/12/2000
---------------------------------------------------
A regularly scheduled meeting of the Tennessee Contest Group was
held at the Memphis Hamfest (DixieFest) located at the Shelby Co.
Fairgrounds 2/12/2000. We had TCG presence at a flea-market table
hosted my Marty, N5NW.
Several members attended the ARRL Forum where TN Section Manager
O.D. Keaton, Delta Divison Director Rick Roderick and ARRL First
Vice President Joel Harrison addressed the group. Topics covered
included Licensing, FCC, Membership Recruitment, Contest Club
Territory, DXCC and new leadership at the ARRL. This was a very
interesting and informative session and we should be proud to
have quality leadership in these representatives of our section,
division and headquarters.
Following the ARRL Forum was the TCG Contesting Forum with
ARRL Contest Director Dan Henderson (N1ND) presenting info
on contesting and some interesting facts and figures regarding
ARRL contest participation, log handling, future outlook and
Cabrillo log submission format. It is truly amazing what Dan
has accomplished with the resources he has available and we
certainly appreciate what he has done in such a short time.
After the Contest Forum, Dan gave his presentation on DXing.
I departed at this time, and maybe someone who remained can
give a summary of the progam to our group.
Present and accounted for at these events:
