The meeting was convened by TCG Facilitator Tom, K1KY, at approximately
10:00 AM CST. In attendance was:
K1KY
K4RO
Wo4o
W4NI
K4BEV
KF4VOW
K0EJ
First order of business was election of new officers for 1999. Doug,
W9WI, had volunteered to fill the Executive Assistant position and was
unanimously elected. No one present volunteered to run for Facilitator so
nominations were solicited. Scott, W4PA, was nominated and elected
(pending his acceptance).
Other new business discussed was whether the TCG Constitution/ByLaws
needed amending to specify the definition of a quorum needed to conduct
TCG business. Also whether/how to solicit member votes via e-mail was
discussed and the concept of "virtual meetings". Outgoing officers K1KY
and K0EJ will research this as well as determining what, if any. changes
are needed to address the current 3 sub-area concept we use for ARRL
contest club submittals (TCG East/Central/West). Added discussion
concerning whether to replace the 3 areas with 2 areas (TCG East/West).
Member input is requested on all these topics and may be addressed to the
TCG reflector tcg@k4ro.net, K0EJ k0ej@juno.com or K1KY k1ky@bellsouth.net.
NAQP CW was discussed and it was noted that 24 team players have already
signed up with hopes that even more will sign up. Contact Chuck, KE4OAR,
to participate. Don, K4BEV, volunteered to be NAQP SSB Captain. He will
send a note to the reflector looking for participants.
K1KY indicated he will be hosting a multi-op for CQWW 160 SSB contest in
February and a M/2 entry for the ARRL SSB DX Test in March
The meeting adjourned at 11:11.
Respectfully submitted,
Mark K0EJ
On a separate note, I wanted to publicly acknowledge and thank Tom, K1KY,
for his superb leadership over the past year. He really went "above and
beyond the call of duty" and significantly expanded the TCG ranks with
his time, talents, and innovative ideas. THANKS TOM!!
