Tennessee Contest Group held a meeting at Perkins Restaurant,
Kingsport on 4/17/99. In attendance were:

Scott Robbins, W4PA
Eric Guinn, AC4LS
David Rotenberry, K4DR
Luther Phillips, N4UW
Jack Hyder, W4JH
Dave Wilson, N4DW
Jim Roller, N4IR

Meeting opened at 1:00 with discussion about Tim Duffy, K3LR having
resigned as the leader of the ARRL Contest Advisory Committee.
Jim N4IR (our Delta Division CAC rep) was apologetic, but could only
describe the new leader as "W7 something, who seems really enthusiastic"
- he will let us know the exact details later.

Discussion of the medium club category participation rules and how
it relates to TCG. I don't recall if we have posted this info to
the membership at large yet, but TCG was disqualified from the
medium club category competition for the recent ARRL 160 meter
contest (results in May QST). A number of messages have passed
amongst TCG leadership, ARRL Delta Division officials and some people
at the ARRL as we were apparently disqualified after following
instructions delivered by the League to then-Facilitator K1KY.
I have noted my displeasure over this to the ARRL as it was on their
instruction that this apparently occured. Not K1KY's fault that
this happened.

Discussion of proposed Field Day operations. N4IR, N4UW, K4DR,
and others will be entering 1A QRP from Bristol, as usual.

Much discussion about tower safety and antenna rebuilding projects
slated for this spring at various locations.

Meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Scott Robbins, W4PA
TCG Facilitator
