TCG Meeting Minutes - August 29, 1998

Following a sumptuous pork BBQ meal, refreshments, and tours of the
NN4T superstation, the meeting was called to order at 2303Z by
Facilitator K1KY. In attendance were:

Non-hams included: Kathy/Michael Daniel, Hannah Fullgraf,
Christopher Painter, Ginger O'Kain, Judy/Maegan/Ryan Speck,
Dawn/Derrick Wilson, Yildiz Binkley, KE4DFC/XYL,
and Ramona (KF4PPA/R).
A resolution to define club boundaries was presented and after
several editorial changes, was passed. W4KH will present it to
our ARRL Director for formal consideration.
Participants in the recent NAQPs were reminded to complete log
submissions. All 25 CW team members and 16 of 17 SSB team members
participated.
Discussion of the K4TCG QSL concluded that more work was required.
K1KY and K4RO will continue with a decision made soon.
Upcoming events discussed:
**K4RO is assembling CW Sprint Teams for 5 Sept . Special operation
"D" was cancelled.
**K0EJ is assembling SSB Sprint Teams for 12 Sept. Special
operation "E" will go as discussed.
**Sept 20th is TQP. Be ready and be ACTIVE!!!
**Sept 26 is the date of the NY4T foxhunt. All are invited
**Next meeting is 12 Sept at O.C.B. in Goodlettesville. K1KY will
not be in attendance due to duties at the Smyrna Airshow.
K1KY thanked Kathy and Steve NN4T for hosting this gala family event
and all in attendance joined in expressing their appreciation.
Steve NN4T mentioned that fellow TCGer, Rod - N5HV, was not feeling
well and regretted that he could not attend. Our best wishes to Rod
for a sucessful recovery. K4UU had a flat tire, and N4KG suffered
automotive cooling system failure enroute.
The concluding technical discussion involved the dangers of
"over-torquing" electronic equipment and two examples were presented.
The meeting was abruptly halted at 0005Z when host Steve dictated
that all must remain until refreshments were gone.
